His encounter with Jean-Claude Novaro led Nicolas Laty to explore the world of glass. His creations plunge the piblic into childhood and transport him into a fantastic universe. With disconcerting skill, Laty sculpts laughing eyes, cheeky expressions and comical postures, breathing life into his sculptures. Her characters, adorned in bright, pop colors, are full of mischief and gaiety.

Laty takes full advantage of the possibilities offered by glass. His pieces are sometimes blown or sculpted from the mass at temperatures in excess of 1150°C, revealing chromatic effects and inclusions, plays on transparency, opacity and texture on polished or frosted surfaces. The suppleness of his gesture, combined with the ductility of glass, enables him to give shape to creatures that he combines with other materials (wood, minerals, stainless steel, silicone).

The artist's imagination is rooted in various sources such as comic strips, animated films and the observation of animal and human behavior...

These influences are evident in the exhibitions organized by the galleries that represent Laty, both in Europe and the United States.
