Born in Antibes in 1980
Lives and works in Biot

Having grown up with a mother who was an environmental activist and a father who was a pioneer of the French Studio Glass Movement, an international movement that contributed to the development of the modern use of glass as an artistic material, Antoine Pierini has always observed the small world of master glassmakers. The basics of glassblowing gestures, as well as mastery of this molten material, were passed on to him in his family's workshop in Biot. Created 21 years ago in a former oil mill, he has been perpetuating his passion for glassblowing since 2005.

To develop his skills, he has rounded out his experience with training courses (fusing, casting, filigree and murine, glass engraving, figurative sculpture, neon and plasma work, and vitréographie on glass), residencies and hosting in artists' studios, museums (MusVerre Sars Poterie France, Museum Of Glass Tacoma USA) and international art centers (Pilchuck USA, Cesty Skla Ways of Glass Czech Republic, Niijima Glass Art Center Japan).

Travels and encounters with great names in glass led him to develop his own practice of contemporary glass, which he activates in accumulations and installations. Alongside glass, he has progressively called on the services of electricians, marble masons and wrought-iron craftsmen for his projects.

Sensitive to the creations of Constantin Brancusi, for their fundamental forms, and Arman, for his relationship with the diverted object, the aesthetics of his work is fundamentally guided by a search for sobriety of form and purity in relation to nature.

An international trainer, Antoine Pierini has exhibited his work around the world in a multitude of group shows, including exhibitions at the GlasMuseum in Lette, Germany, and the Musée d'Art Classique in Mougins, France.
